Other Ministry Opportunities

Outreach Ministries of our Family!!

Advocacy Ministry - The Advocacy Ministry team of our community of faith will be formed to help mobilize and implement ministries which help the world in which we live.  This ministry team will organize the collection of items for our "Backpack" buddy ministry which assists local students with gifts of food for the weekend.  The team will organize collections for New Bethany Ministry at various times during the year such as soup or sock collections.  The team will also assist with our Thanksgiving basket offerings and Headstart gift program.

Funeral Reception Committee - At the request of the bereaved family, the volunteers serve a catered meal in the Social Room following a funeral. The food and time of sharing are a great comfort to the family at a difficult time.  Our funeral reception team is led by the very capable leadership of Gina DeAngelis.

Homebound Ministry - Each month our Homebound ministry team visits sisters and brothers in Christ who are no longer able to travel to St. Peter's to receive Holy Communion.  Homebound ministries share in this sacred meal and offer these fellow family members an opportunity of Christian fellowship and a time to share information about our community.

Campus Ministry - College students from Lehigh University and other area schools gather on a regular basis to share a meal and to share times of fellowship.  All students are welcome at any of our activities. See MINISTRIES OF OUR FAMILY/CAMPUS MINISTRY for additional information.

Sports Activities - Are available for youth and adults and include softball and dart baseball.

Bethlehem Emergency Shelter Ministry Team - Each month we have committed to offer two meal to our sisters in Christ who are having a difficult time.  This ministry occurs the first Sunday and third Tuesday of each cold weather month.

Thrift Shop Volunteers - are utilized at the local thrift shop which benefits New Bethany Ministries.

Lutheran World Relief Blanket Makers - if you can use a scissors and tie a knot, you can help be part of a ministry that shares blankets with those less fortunate.  All blankets which are created are donated to the Lutheran World Relief Blanket ministry!
